Why I love Rescue...

Because I'm a mental case. LOL, well at least some days.  How else could I live with.......

Boog, my big baby boy.

Sheeba, the queen of the castle.

Lady the Lazy Lapdog - don't tell her she's supposed to be a border collie, she won't believe you

Smokey, the obsessive compulsive ACD

Baba, who only puts up with me because he has to.

Izzy, the newest member of our family

Bandit, no longer with us but the absolute best dog that ever lived.

Shadow, no longer with us, the best Senior Dog a girl could ask for.

And the rescues with me today....

Piper

Lucy

Ricky

Floydd

Lets not forget the two rescues leaving this weekend, the ones I'll cry over when they are gone.  I'll miss them, but will be filled with happiness because two lives have been saved, they have new forever homes, and by leaving they open room for two more to be saved.

Daisy

Zola

The great transformation.

I've got to tell you, I have 4 great kids.  A son 12, and three daughters 15, 7, and 5.

Its because of these kids I took six weekends of my life and volunteered at a Cornstalk, a haunted corn maze, forest, and barn.  We all had a blast and hope to go back next year.  This place transformed my little quiet book worm, GRUMPY teenage daughter into.  A goofy, fun loving, book worm, still some times Grumpy teenager. LOL

I'll tell you she started out her volunteering career as a doll, kind of Raggedy Ann meets the Wendy's charchter.  And she ran with it....she ended the season dressed in her Raggedy Ann dress hiding in the forest, as people would pass her she'd come into that path and skip along behind them singing a la de dah lad dah type tune.  The forest is dark and there is music playing of a young girl singing itsy bitsy spider and other nursery rhymes, but played backwards! The wind howls and they turn a corner towards the next scare actor and my daughter hisses out one of two phrases, either....your gonna die (in an eerie sing song way)...or a stage whisper...Won't you play with me!  The people scream and run ahead to their next fright!

This costume led me to have my daughters hair dyed.  Well I did it myself to start with.  And here it is.....the BIG TRANSFORMATION!!!

I'm going to put it right here......

So I don't lose it!

How many times have you picked up something, you do not want to lose, but you don't need it right now!  So, you put it someplace.  Someplace special, where it will be safe from the children, the dogs, the cats...and well even yourself!

I have done this so many times recently I swear if its not attached to my body its going to get lost!  This is not only frustrating me, but my poor husband is convinced I'm eating these things and just not telling anyone.

A partial list of lost items that I put somewhere safe, somewhere I would REMEMBER...and yet they are lost.

  1. Streets & Trips mapping software discs that my husband really needs to install on his laptop.
  2. Blue tooth dongle so my husband can use his blue tooth mouse with his new laptop.
  3. The spare cordless phone, you know the one that has the good battery but is dead so I can't even call myself to find it.
  4. The remotes for the TV and satellite. Not one, Not two..but THREE of them.
  5. The power cord to my husbands 12Volt refrigerator for his truck.
  6. The papers to renew my rescue license with the state.
  7. The registration for, you guessed it, my husbands car!

Sigh, the list could go on and on.  But I'm afraid I've forgotten what all I've lost now.
